WOW! It was an amazing week and lots of great content.
First, let me share a little hack: Listen to podcasts when you are exercising.
I’m currently ramping up with my Ironman training and I spend on average 4 hours on the treadmill. I could spend four hours listening to the Dave Mathews Band (no problem whatsoever) but I can gain four hours of great insights and knowledge. I have chosen the latter, and the newsletter is the outcome of that.
As for what to listen to, just explore and you will find what’s best for you.
Today we have a bit of Sheryl, two podcasts with Adam Grant, and a bunch of McKinsey material. I hope you can find something that works for your moment.
New in my investment portfolio:
Rodeo: Gig work offers a flexible and independent way to make a living for millions of people around the world. But with independence come challenges - unpredictable earnings, unclear information and unfair practices. Starting with delivery riders, Rodeo is building the tools to help gig workers boost their earnings and improve their experience.
Healf: is a community-powered UK retailer for the highest quality products across 4 pillars of health: Eat, Move, Mind, Sleep. We believe in everyday healthy living, built up day-by-day through simple but effective rituals.
(AHAHA French - first one in France with my best pal Julien Callede bringing to a total of 6 co-investments)
Leadership
Sheryl Sandberg, still the COO of Facebook, shares valuable lessons about leadership. It’s an easy one to process and according to Marcelo Manteigas, co-founder of Networkme, “it’s fantastic.”
Adam Grant is one of my favorite thinkers and an amazing storyteller - such a charismatic voice, and a perfect tone - he delivers another great piece on leadership and communication.
A McKinsey collection of 12 essays about Leadership and everything that comes together with it. I haven’t read all 12 but it’s already on my Readocracy reading list.
More McKinsey amazing content: It’s not about the office, it’s about belonging. To retain employees, organizations need to evolve their approach to building community, cohesion, and a sense of belonging at work.
Harvard Business Review: Most of us are incredibly careful about how we spend our money. But when it comes to our time, we hardly give it a second thought. We say yes to all sorts of nonsensical requests for our time; we treat everything as urgent; we attend pointless meetings; we refuse to delegate work for fear that quality will be compromised; we spend our days tethered to our inboxes and our smartphones; and we stubbornly continue to perform tasks that a machine could do for us.
I use Strava every single day, and it just happens that I can now follow my favorite athletes and how they train. Michael Horvath, co-founder and CEO, talks about how complex it gets when you have multiple offices and hundreds of employees. A true lesson on leadership.

Harvard Business Review - Design your Organization to Match your Strategy
Research suggests that only 10% of organizations are successful at aligning their strategy with their organization design. Some of the problem is a gross misunderstanding of what the word “alignment” actually means in this context. Most leaders naively assume that it means rigid processes that cascade goals from top to bottom, launching intense communication campaigns that promote top priorities, and shaping budgets to support those priorities.
