Hello everyone,
I'm so happy to be back here with all of you.
First, let's celebrate: Last week I had my best results ever! Best number of views, subscriptions, likes and clicks on content.
When I started this mission to share all the best things I was reading and listening to, I just wanted to go one level beyond the very few founders and mentors I was sharing with.
2022 was the beginning, but it was also a punch in the face. I did not have the discipline to write things down all the time, and I was often behind my deadlines. The end result: frustration and self-punishment. At the beginning of 2023, I made a contract with myself that I would write every single week for a year, and I was not willing to fail myself one more time.
So I set a very simple and straightforward OKR for my quest for knowledge:
Objective: Share with people the things that change my mind.
KR1: 1000 subscribers
KR2: 52 newsletters
Speaking of OKR's, one of the best pieces of content this week is the chat between Lenny and Christina Wodtke, professor at Stanford and author of Radical Focus. I loved the conversation, I mean it is kind of funny because it is straight to the point. She breaks down a lot of application myths about OKRs and gives simple examples to illustrate what she is talking about. I think it is a must watch for founders, leaders and managers out there.
Of course, if you haven't read the management "bible", Measure What Matters by John Doer, please grab a copy now!
I'm not talking about OKRs by accident. As we enter the last two weeks of Q1, many leaders are analyzing their KPIs and starting conversations about what's next for Q2. I think Lenny was smart enough to time the interview perfectly to inspire his audience!
Founders have a real challenge when it comes to focus and prioritization and OKR can help them navigate and lead his team towards a common goal and analyze and adjust accordingly on a weekly basis. (Christina shares her approach to this around the 46 minute mark of the conversation).

Breathing Techniques to Reduce Stress and Anxiety | Dr. Andrew Huberman on the Physiological Sigh
This one I sent to a few friends who I know have a problem with stress, but they are also aware of it and working on building improvements.
Tim is a great communicator and Dr. Andrew Huberman is making a splash in social media with his deep knowledge of complex issue but also with very easy to understand communication style.

Best to Listen
I recently saw a post that created a sequence of events to launch a successful business, and I think "having a community" was #3 on the list, right after creating a social media profile and building an audience. I see great value in communities, but I also think people misunderstand how difficult it is to build and engage a thriving community. It's HARD!!!
Here the Head of Community at Notion shares his story and a few tricks to inspire you and your business.
Special GPT-4
The hottest topic of the week is undoubtedly the new OpenAi release, GPT-4, the turbo version of GPT-3.
It's funny to see how some people react to it. I have friends telling me they're not sending their kids to college and paying tuition, then I have friends worried about the future of work and how society can respond to billions of people without jobs, and of course the already hundreds of founders pitching the next big thing in tech and how they're going to conquer it all.
Personally, I think these moments are similar to the crypto hype a few years ago - my mom asked me if she should buy bitcoin - but with AI, I see the future and I don't see us turning back. I think AI is here and its penetration into our lives is going to be something we've never seen before. In the end, my mom never bought a single bitcoin, but I'm sure she will be interacting with AI in the very near future.
When it came to crypto - for the sake of argument, I'm going to look at cryptocurrencies - I always saw a tremendous amount of friction around adoption, from user adoption, to market adoption, to laws and regulations; but with AI, I don't see any of that, and I see the world eager to embrace it and make things happen - for better and for worse.

Two Specials For Early Stage Founders
I think this one with Lenny and Gustaf I sent to four founders I'm currently working with and honestly, the first twenty-four seconds set the pace and I'm 100% with him on his statement. Check it out!
Also, we all love the test, learn, repeat and MVP's are great for the very beginning of the startup journey so it just made my list!
Startup of the Week
DeepL - I have been using DeepL for quite some time now, especially with my Spanish, but recently they launched an AI powered writing tool and it has helped me a lot to be more fluent and able to better express the ideas inside this newsletter.
I'm a fan.
